Lucy & Mark

The Old Mill, Aldermaston

June

I was so excited to be photographing Lucy & Mark’s wedding at The Old Mill in Aldermaston. It was the first time I had photographed there & they were just the loveliest couple inside & out. They decided to have an engagement shoot at The Old Mill in October & we managed to capture the perfect light during golden hour. It would seem that the sun was set to stay because their wedding day was just the most perfect weather! The sun was out all day, to the point where Lucy was even apologising to her guests about the sun. But the venue has lots of shaded areas so I made sure I captured the beautiful grounds without subjecting them & their guests to the intense heat.

After their outdoor ceremony they enjoyed lawn games & cocktails during their drinks reception. Their wedding breakfast was a nice relief from the heat of the day & the guests were entertained by some of the best speeches I have ever heard, everyone was in hysterics! After the meal guests returned to the grounds to enjoy more lawn games before  Lucy & Mark cut their cake & then started the party off with their first dance.

Loren was absolutely fantastic when she photographed our wedding in June 2023. We elected to do an engagement photoshoot after we booked her for the wedding as neither of us are particularly confident in front of the camera. Loren met us at our venue and we did the shoot. We both felt very at ease and the photographs were lovely. This was NOTHING in comparison to what Loren did on the actual wedding – she was an absolute dream. Loren arrived early and just got on with things. Things were manic downstairs but Loren had taken herself off to take photographs of my dress, ring, tiara etc. She arranged everything so beautifully and found things around my childhood bedroom to make the photos stylish but sentimental. The things she had done were an amazing surprised when we finally got the photos and we were so grateful for her creativity and just quietly getting on with things.
Loren was warm, patient and endlessly cheerful throughout the day. We had requested a lot of photos but she got them all and she made the more formal shots feel fun and everything she captured was lovely, beautiful. She also captured some gorgeous candid moments throughout the day. It was pure joy going through them.
Loren was also kind enough to make a few changes to some of the photos my mum wanted to order (changing a black and white photo to colour etc) which was really generous of her after all the time she must have spent editing them. She was amazing to have on the day and I would highly recommend her!
