I first photographed Nicole & Tom when Nicole was pregnant with their first child, Elsie. I did bump photos and then newborn pictures when Elsie arrived. So I was over the moon to hear they were engaged and ask me to photograph their wedding.

I met them at Hillfields Farm 2 days before their wedding to go through all the final details. Hillfields Farm is a dry hire, so you have the venue 2 days before and then 1 day after. That way you can decorate it yourself and bring in your own suppliers. It is perfect for anyone who loves to organise and allows you to be creative and less restricted. The venue has accommodation to get ready in as well as to sleep in the night of the wedding.

I had a second photographer with me for a few hours on the day, this allowed me to get pictures of the bridal party preparations and their walk over to the ceremony. My second shooter captured the groomsmen beforehand plus the guests arriving. It also meant we had 2 different angles during the ceremony (as there wasn’t much room to move around at the front). Then during the drinks reception I could concentrate on the group & couple photos and my second shooter could capture candid shots of guests chatting and playing the lawn games.

Nicole & Tom were so lucky with fantastic weather, the sun shined for them all day. Everyone enjoyed the lawn games, young & old, even the bride & groom! After canapés on the lawn, the wedding breakfast was BBQ’d burgers followed by a desert tower of brownies & cookies made by a friend of the couple. In the evening there was a packed sweet cart, wall of crisps and lots more sweet treats. The mobile bar kept everyone watered with 3 cocktails named after the couple & their pets.

After the meal the guests relaxed on the lawn again before the evening reception kicked of with the first dance, followed by LOADS more dancing on a very busy dance floor!
